As a manager what do I need to do?
Inspect your workplace for all chemicals being used and consider all activities/processes that produce chemicals.
Some chemicals are non-hazardous and others hazardous.
Non-hazardous chemicals should be listed on an inventory. They must be stored and used in accordance with manufacturers instructions, however they do not require a risk assessment.
Hazardous chemicals must be listed on an inventory and have a risk assessment completed. All control measures identified through risk assessment must be implemented.
Start by listing your chemicals on an inventory. This sample template can be edited: Inventory Excel.
