Mayo University Hospital – their story continues….

A lot can happen in 1 year and the solid growth of the Staff Engagement Forum at Mayo General Hospital is proof of what can be achieved by a hard-working group who are all passionate about promoting the positive experience for all staff. I was invited to the launch of the Staff Recognition Awards on the 10th June, this was one of a number of initiatives that staff had highlighted in feedback that was important for them. The atmosphere around the hospital was contagious (in a good way) - spreading quickly amongst staff and visitors made stronger by the fantastic music provided by our own John Kilkenny and students from his music school. The benefits of having a Staff Engagement Forum in this setting are clear and obvious to staff, they can see that the forum has important things to offer them. I was lucky enough to catch-up with Forum members Sarah Ronayne and Fintan Staunton so I could capture and share their experiences.
