We put together a list of people who can get free bowel screening through the national bowel screening programme - BowelScreen.
We call this the BowelScreen register.
Using the BowelScreen register
Use the BowelScreen register to:
- check if you're on the BowelScreen register
- add up-to-date contact information and GP details
- order a BowelScreen home test kit
You will need your PPS number and date of birth.
If you cannot use the online BowelScreen register, contact us.

Why check if you are on the BowelScreen register
If you're not on the BowelScreen register we can add you to it.
Many people who can get bowel screening are already on the BowelScreen register.
But some people may:
- not be on it yet
- be marked as 'inactive' - this can happen if you told us you moved abroad, for example
Who free bowel screening is for
Add up-to-date contact information
Give us your up-to-date contact information and GP details when:
- you first check if you are on the BowelScreen register
- when your contact information changes or you change GP
This is so we can send:
- your results to you and your GP
- you a BowelScreen home test kit when it is next due
How to update your contact information
You can use the BowelScreen register to change your contact information.
You will need your PPS number and date of birth.
After you enter these you can enter your contact information. You cannot view the address we have stored for you.
This is to protect your details from anyone who knows both your PPS number and date of birth.
