To ask the Minister for Health the reason that insulin pump upgrades have been paused in Cork University Hospital (Minister as you know insulin pumps for diabetic patients have a warranty of 4 years. We have the situation facing young and old patients in CUH whereby when their pumps will be out of warranty and are due an upgrade that these upgrades are currently paused in CUH. It is my understanding that CUH are unable to process these pump upgrades which means patients will have to revert back to pens and daily injections. This will have a huge impact on both children and adults lives. Minister it really is a step back in the care of these patients.); and if he will make a statement on the matter.
