Vaccination Programme News and Updates

  • Fluenz (LAIV: live attenuated nasal spray suspension) is no longer available to order from the HSE National Cold Chain Service (NCCS).
    For clinical advice or queries related to influenza vaccine for a child or young person aged 2 – 17 years, please contact the National Immunisation Office (NIO) immunisation@hse.ie.
  • NCCS Annual Stocktake:
    The annual stocktake of all HSE vaccines must be completed by 31st December 2025. Pease log on to the National Cold Chain portal and complete your stocktake returns at www.ordervaccines.ie, even if you are not placing any new orders. If you do not have any vaccine stock, please submit your stocktake entry with a Zero quantity. Please check stock and remove all expired vaccines immediately in preparation for return to NCCS.
  • Removal of vaccine types:
    COVID-19 Vaccine Comirnaty ® KP.2  will be removed from GP IT Systems on 1st April  2026 and from PharmaVax System on 1st March 2026             
  • It is essential that all vaccines administered are recorded promptly onto the IT systems, so that clinical records are kept up to date. Please ensure the patient vaccination records are entered into your GP Practice Management System/GPVax or PharmaVax.
    Note: Earlier deliveries of LAIV have an expiry date of 9 December 2025.
