  • The Copac® library catalogue gives free access to the merged online catalogues of major University and National Libraries in the UK and Ireland, including the British Library
  • James Lind Library has been created to help people understand fair tests of treatments in health care.
  • Libdex, an index of all libraries. This link brings you to all Irish libraries.
  • Library.ie, publishes news and information about libraries in Ireland.
  • Library of Congress, The USA's oldest federal cultural institution and serves as the research arm of Congress. It is also the largest library in the world, with millions of books, recordings, photographs, maps and manuscripts in its collections
  • National Library of Canada, Canada's national collection of books, historical documents, government records, photos, films, maps, music...and more
  • WorldCat, WorldCat is the world's largest network of library content and services   
  • eLibrary NHS Scotland: This is considered one of the best sites for guidelines that are appropriate to Ireland
  • The Campbell Collaboration, (C2) is a non-profit organization that aims to help people make well-informed decisions about the effects of interventions in the social, behavioral and educational arenas.
  • National Library for Health (NHS UK) quality information resources for health managers, clinical managers and leaders. See some of the specialist libraries below also.
  • PubMed:a service of the National Library of Medicine in the US, includes over 14 million citations for biomedical articles back to the 1950's. These citations are from MEDLINE and additional life science journals.
  • PubMed Central (PMC) is the U.S. National Library of Medicine's digital archive of life sciences journal literature. Access to PMC is free and unrestricted.
  • Managing Knowledge in Health Services is the title of an extremely popular book, edited by Andrew Booth and Graham Walton, originally published by Facet Publishing (formerly Library Association Publishing) in 2000.
