Community Cooking Programmes
Six week nutrition and basic cooking courses are run in lots of areas around the country.
Courses are generally held on one morning or afternoon per week (evening courses are also held).
These courses are fun and interactive and are a great way to learn about food and nutrition, as well as picking up some clever cooking tips. Class sizes are small.
Courses are delivered by tutors who have been trained by HSE community dietitians. Many of the courses are free, while others charge just a nominal fee.
Courses vary in the way they are organised around the country - some are run by organisations and are run specifically for users of that organisation. In other areas courses are run for members of the public. Some schools run courses for parents, but others can join in too.
