National Quality and Patient Safety Directorate

Welcome

As the National Clinical Director of the newly established Quality and Patient Safety Directorate (NQPSD), I welcome you to explore our interim webpages and learn more about the role of the NQPSD within the HSE. Following the corporate centre review of the HSE in 2021, members of the former National Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance and Verification teams have come together, with new colleagues, to form this new Directorate within the Office of the Chief Clinical Officer.

The work of the NQPSD is anchored in the HSE Patient Safety Strategy 2019-2024. The NQPSD works with you to embed a culture of patient safety improvement at every level of the health and social care services. The NQPSD teams look forward to collaborating and supporting you in delivering quality and patient safety service improvements.

Dr Orla Healy,
