Programme for those with dual diagnosis

comobidity

The HSE has set up a National Clinical Programme for assessing and managing patients who have co-morbid (more than one condition at the same time) mental illness and substance misuse issues. This clinical programme will begin in 2017 and aims to provide a comprehensive model of care for responding to this serious clinical issue.

A national working group of relevant stakeholders will be convened to drive this process. They will produce a template document for a model of care for co-morbid mental illness and substance misuse. They will submit this to the Clinical Strategy and Programme Division in the HSE.

We are represented on this group by Dr Eamon Keenan, National Clinical Lead, Addiction Services.
