Smoking Prevalence Trackers
The smoking prevalence tracker is a survey of 1000 people carried out 4 times each year to monitor smoking trends within the Irish population. This survey has been carried out since 2002 on behalf of the Health Service Executive (HSE).
A comprehensive report is provided to the HSE at the end of each quarter with information on numbers of people smoking, how many cigarettes are smoked, brands preferred and e-cigarette usage and then an annual summary is prepared, these are shown below:
