Review and renewal process

Medical cards and GP visit cards are issued for a period of time. Your card has a ‘Valid to’ date on it. We will contact you when we need to review your eligibility. We review your eligibility before we can renew your card.

We will write to you by email or post to complete a medical card review. It is important we have your current address.

If you are no longer eligible for a medical card, we will assess you for a GP visit card. We will write to you to let you know the outcome.

If you received a letter and PIN from us, inviting you to use the online medical card application system, select 'Review my medical card'.
