The Central Mental Hospital is based in the National Forensic Mental Health Service (NFMHS) Portrane, Dublin and provides a range of forensic mental health services.
The National Forensic Mental Health Service (NFMHS) is a state-of-the-art facility located 22km from Dublin City in Portrane Demesne, Portrane, Co. Dublin, K36 FD79.
The Central Mental Hospital can provide care for up to 130 patients in the Portrane facility and the NFMHS provides community and prison in-reach services also. When fully commissioned, the NFMHS will also have a Forensic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (FCAMHS) Unit and Intensive Care Rehabilitation Unit (ICRU).
