Patients requiring urgent and emergency dental care should contact their local clinic by telephone before 10 am; it may not be possible to respond on the same day to calls received later than 10 am.

We are working with our colleagues across all Primary Care to create a safe environment that will allow routine services to resume in the near future.

Thank you for your patience during this time and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

A parent or legal guardian should accompany children to every visit to provide consent for examinations and/or treatments.

Children under 16: School Screening Service

The HSE Dental Service provides targeted screening, assessment (including orthodontic assessment) and treatment for children at key developmental stages through our schools programme. At present, the service in Community Healthcare East is providing a service to 6th and 2nd class. Children who are identified as high risk because of exceptional medical or dental needs may be seen more frequently, within available resources.

This service is not intended to provide comprehensive dental care for children and we advise that all children should see their family dentist at least once a year from their first birthday.

A parent or legal guardian should accompany children to every visit to provide consent for examinations and/or treatments.
