Admissions:
Portiuncula Hospital operates a direct payment scheme for VHI and Laya Healthcare (formerly Quinn Healthcare).
Patients for admission are requested to bring the following (as appropriate):
- Medical Card. The Medical Card number on its own will not suffice.
- VHI number
- Laya Healthcare number (formerly Quinn Healthcare)
- Aviva Health Insurance number (formerly Hibernian Aviva)
- ESB Scheme number
- Garda Medical Aid number
Emergency Department charge
There is a charge for attending the Emergency Department; the current charge is €100 per visit. Some exemptions apply to this charge. It should be noted this charge may not be covered by your health insurance.
