Mission Statement
The Philosophy of the Outpatient Department is to provide quality care for all service users attending clinics, and to ensure that they are treated with dignity and respect. We aim to provide the service user and their family with an efficient and effective service.

Where are we?
First and second floors, University Hospital Waterford. The nearest car park is at the front of the hospital close to the main entrance.

What do we do?
Our clinics provide for those needing care in the following areas: Orthopaedics, Ear Nose and Throat, Surgery, Medicine, Oncology (Cancer), Neurology, Respiratory (Lungs), Cardiology (Heart), Nephrology (Kidneys), Ophthalmology(Eyes), Paediatrics (Children) and Maternity.

Our clinics are usually consultant-led, and supported by a team of health professionals using a multidisciplinary approach.

A range of tests may be done while you are at the clinic, including blood tests, ECGs and x-rays. 

How to access our services
Patients are referred by their General Practitioner for their first visit. Further visits are arranged by the clinic doctor/ team.

Our Aim
Our aim is to ensure the service user receives quality care in an efficient and effective manner. We endeavor to see you as close to your appointment as possible, communicating any delays promptly and regularly.

Opening Times
Clinic hours are generally 9am to 5pm, although a small number of clinics start at 8am.
