The purpose of the HSE CAMHS Operational Guideline is to provide consistency in the service delivery of CAMHS throughout the country and CAMHS teams adhere to.

Build on the existing good practice in place in CAMHS. Ensure legislative and regulatory requirements are met. Ensure all employees and management are clear on roles and responsibilities. Ensure that children, adolescents and their parent(s) are clear on the service provided by CAMHS. Ensure that referral agents and other agencies involved in the provision of care to children and adolescents are clear on the service provided by CAMHS. Provide a framework for audit and evaluation.
