The cyberattack has had a significant and ongoing impact on HSE Radiotherapy Centres nationally since identified on Friday morning. This has necessitated temporary closure of our radiation machines and ceasing radiation treatment across our five centres (St Lukes, Beaumont, St James’, Galway University and Cork University Hospitals)
A plan has been initiated to treat all urgent radiation patients in the private sector which commenced on Friday and is continuing.
To reassure patients routine radiation treatments can be temporarily interrupted safely without negatively impacting on their outcome. Patients will be contacted directly by our staff about their appointments.
There will be no radiotherapy service in these centres on Monday 17th May but everything possible is being done to get our systems ready to treat patients with radiation again next week."
