A new Public Service Sick Leave Scheme was introduced on 31st March 2014. The new scheme provides that employees who are absent on sick leave may receive up to a maximum of 3 months on full pay followed by 3 months on half pay in a rolling 4 year period. These new provisions apply to all health service employees (both officer and support staff grades) and supersede all existing arrangements. Details of the new arrangements are set out in HR Circular 020/2013 and HR Circular 005/2014 below.
