Strategic Workforce Planning & Intelligence Unit was established in 2017 following the publication of the National Strategic Framework for Health and Social Care Workforce Planning “Working Together for Health”, DOH 2017.
The Unit is tasked with ensuring high-quality data intelligence and the operationalisation National Strategic Framework for Health and Social Care Workforce Planning.
Workforce Planning is a key priority for the Irish Health Service. The Health Services People Strategy (2019-2024) guides the teams work to “Engage, develop and value our workforce to deliver the best possible care and services to the people who depend on them”.
It is headed by Dr Philippa Ryan Withero, Assistant National Director and is based on two sites in Dr Steeven’s Hospital, Dublin and Millennium Park in Naas, Kildare.
