Reflection of Common Themes between the National Patient Experience Survey and the Your Opinion Counts Staff Survey 2018

Private sector research has long demonstrated that there is a relationship between staff experience and customer satisfaction. Research into this relationship in health sectors has lagged in comparison but has in recent times started to emerge. In 2016, an analysis of themes between the 2016 Your Opinion Counts staff survey and the 2017 patient experience survey indicated that there is a relationship between staff and patient experience. Advancing on that work, common themes where extracted and analysed for the more recent staff and patient surveys further highlighting how this relationship impacts on patient care in Irish Health Services.

Engaging Health Staff - An Introduction

‘Engaging Health Staff – An Introduction’ was published in 2018 and aims to educate and inform staff about Staff Engagement and the different ways they can be engaged.

Staff Engagement - A Strategic Plan is currently in draft and is expected to be available shortly. This strategy is in response to the "Your Opinion Counts" Staff Survey results 2018 and is expected to contribute the staff engagement targets outlined in the revised People Strategy and Sláintecare implementation plan.
