    Further roll-out of HSE walk-in COVID 19 testing centres

    Over the coming days, walk-in testing will be available at locations in Middleton and Youghal Co Cork; Edenderry, Co Offaly; Newbridge, Co Kildare and Ballina Co Mayo, Blanchardstown and Ballymun in Dublin.

    Public health authorities on both sides of border urge caution

    The Public Health Agency (PHA) in Northern Ireland and the Health Service Executive (HSE) in the Republic of Ireland are urging people to stick to key public health advice and exercise caution over coming weeks, particularly with regard to cross-border activity. The call comes as Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland progress on the easing of their respective lockdowns.

    A National SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Wastewater Surveillance Programme, that has been developed by a specialist team, with input from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC), HSE, HIU, the National Virus Reference Laboratory (NVRL), UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science, and Irish Water, will begin in early May.

    The HSE has joined with the Gardai and the Local Authorities in Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford in thanking the general public for their efforts to date but also in reminding everyone that individual actions do matter – including adherence to all of the current public health measures to protect against Covid-19.
