A Joint HSE / DoHC Task Group was established to progress the recommendations of Children's Health First, and, in particular, to advise on the best location for the proposed new hospital. The Joint Task Group undertook an extensive information gathering process to inform the decision making process. As part of this work, the issue of tri-location with maternity service, particularly for high-risk obstetric and neonatal services, emerged as requiring consideration

The HSE is responsible for inspection of Pre-School Services including (pre-schools, play groups, nurserys, crèches, day-care and other similar services) under the Child Care (Pre-School) Regulations 2006.. These regulations came into effect on September 3, 2007.
This second annual report details information provided in respect of activities during 2004.
