Ireland’s most recent National Health Strategy - “Quality & Fairness – A Health System for You” included a commitment by the Department of Health and Children to undertake a review of paediatric services. In line with that commitment and following a procurement process, the HSE commissioned McKinsey & Company to prepare a report advising on the ‘strategic organisation of tertiary paediatric services for Ireland’ that would be ‘in the best interests of children’.
