Palliative Services

Palliative care is provided to people with life-limiting conditions and their families. It is a sensitive and holistic service, delivered either in a hospice, at home or in residential settings such as nursing homes, or any other places that people may live.

The service is designed to improve the quality of life for people living with life-limiting conditions and to provide comfort and dignity at end of life.

Palliative care services

Palliative Care services in CHO Area 9 (Dublin North, Dublin North Central, Dublin North West) are provided in partnership with St. Francis Hospice Dublin.

The hospice provides a specialist palliative care service for the people of North Dublin and surrounding counties from its hospices in Raheny and Blanchardstown.

A voluntary organisation under the care of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, it is partially funded by the HSE. All care is delivered at no cost to patients and their families.
