Ward Profile

The philosophy of midwifery care focuses on women and their families and on the delivery of women centred maternity services.  Childbirth is viewed as a normal physiological process for the majority of women where midwifery care is provided in partnership with the woman and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

Care is holistic and individualized in nature.  It is delivered in a respectful friendly manner in an environment that facilitates empowering the woman and enabling her to make informed choices regarding the care of herself and her baby.
