The pharmacy department at Portiuncula Hospital is located on the first floor at the top of the stairs.
Services Provided:
- Top-up dispensing by technician staff to most wards
- Supply CPR Boxes to wards
- Clinical services including ward prescription review on a daily basis, pharmacy / laboratory led anticoagulation clinic.
- Oncology service.
- Cardiac Rehabilitation service.
- Drug information service, staff education and staff dispensing.
- Development of prescribing guidelines
- Active participation on many Committees
- Notification incident reporting service to ensure the safe prescribing, dispensing and administration of medications which patients are in hospital.
Pharmacy Function:
Our function is to ensure that the pharmaceutical care of our patients is delivered safely and efficiently through services provided by our trained personnel. We aim to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that all patients receive optimum care.
