    Media statement – 21st March 2022 - Visiting Restrictions at Bantry General Hospital

    Visiting restrictions remain in place at Bantry General Hospital due to increased infection control measures. This also includes St. Joseph’s Residential Unit, which is located on the hospital grounds. Visiting will only be allowed on compassionate grounds and must be pre-arranged with Ward managers and hospital consultants

    Media statement – Tipperary University Hospital – 22nd March 2022

    The Emergency Department (ED) at Tipperary University Hospital is currently experiencing increased numbers of presentations and is now very overcrowded.  Management at the hospital is asking members of the public to only attend in the case of a genuine emergency, advising that, where possible, a GP or Caredoc out-of-hours service be consulted in the first instance.

    St Patrick’s Day has always been a very busy day for Emergency Departments and given that this year we will have 2 bank holidays and a weekend together, the HSE is appealing to the public to consider all care options before attending our Emergency Departments, saving their use for those patients who need urgent and emergency care.

    Community Healthcare Organisation Area 1 (Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Monaghan and Sligo) Approval for the next phase of structural upgrades is approved for St. Conal’s Hospital Letterkenny

    Capital and Estates, HSE North West are continuing a phased programme of upgrade works to retain and repair the existing structures of the St. Conal's Campus which is a protected structure. Approval of €0.71 million was received for the next priority of the works in 2022. The works will include upgrading of the roof, windows, refurbishment to the external render as well as internal refurbishment works.
