    COVID-19 vaccination now available for pregnant women between 14 and 36 weeks

    Pregnant women between 14 and 36 completed weeks gestation are now being offered an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna), following a recent NIAC recommendation. The HSE is encouraging pregnant women to take up the COVID-19 vaccine when it is offered.

    The HSE invites everyone aged 45-49 to register for their COVID-19 vaccine through the HSE’s online registration system or on the phone with HSELive.

    As a result of a ransomware attack, the HSE’s IT system is shut down as a precaution whilst the matter is being addressed.

    Today, (Wednesday, 12th May), the HSE marks International Nurses Day 2021 (#IND2021), the theme of which is Nurses: A Voice to Lead – A Vision for Future Healthcare. #IND2021 will focus on the changes to and innovations in nursing and how this will impact the future delivery of healthcare.

    Additional free walk-in COVID 19 Test Centres to open

    The HSE is continuing with the roll-out of its COVID-19 walk-in testing centres with additional testing sites opening today, Friday May 7th and from Monday May 10th. The period of opening of a number of other sites is also being extended for a further seven days. Walk-in testing continues to be provided in dedicated pop-up locations, and alongside the GP referral testing services in a number of the COVID-19 static testing centres.

    START campaign encourages families to take a break from treats and re-start healthy habits.

    New research from safefood in support of the START campaign has found that almost 50% of parents and guardians said children are eating more treats since the start of the pandemic and that they are finding it difficult to keep the amount of treats their children eat to a minimum.
