Killeshandra Primary Care Centre opens its doors 

The new Killeshandra Primary Care Centre will become operational today, Monday September 4.

Killeshandra Primary Care Centre, located at Main Street, Killeshandra, Co. Cavan, H12 K3V9, will provide a range of Community Healthcare Services. 

When fully operational these will include Public Health Nursing, Dietetics, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Social Work and Chronic Disease interventions. 

Killeshandra Lakeside Medical Practice is also operating from the building. 

This marks the third Primary Care Centre in Cavan Monaghan to open its doors over the past number of weeks.

The North Monaghan Primary Care Centre on the St Davnet’s Campus in Monaghan Town and Clones Primary Care Centre on 98 Avenue in Clones Town both became operational in August.

Josephine Collins, General Manager, Cavan Monaghan Primary Care Services, on behalf of the Cavan Monaghan Primary Care Management Team and staff, said;

‘’These modern purpose built Primary Care Centres enable the provision of a wide range of services, to include for example, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Podiatry,  Public Health Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Speech and Language Therapy, and Chronic Disease interventions, alongside the local General Practitioners (GPs). The provision of these clinical services enable the delivery of a more integrated Primary Care Team approach, and achieve better health outcomes closer to home for our clients of all age groups, which is one of our ultimate goals in the development and delivery of Primary Care Services to the local population.

“I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge the dedication and resilience of our local Cavan Monaghan Primary Care Service Managers, and their teams,  along with the HSE Capital and Estates Department, who worked together throughout the past number of years to deliver on these purpose built Primary Care Centres in,  North Monaghan, Clones and Killeshandra, for the people of Cavan and Monaghan.”
