Acute hospital CPE toolkit
This Acute Hospital CPE toolkit contains a number of documents including guidelines for screening patients, assessing evidence of CPE transmission in acute hospitals, a set of facts sheets on CPE and patient information.
In June 2017, the HSE National HCAI/AMR lead wrote to all hospital group Chief Executive Officers to highlight the risk of CPE and to request the establishment of a CEO-led infection prevention committee in each hospital group.
In October 2017, the Minister for Health declared a public health emergency in relation to CPE and established the national public health emergency team NPHET to oversee the management of the issue. Read the minutes, press releases and reports.
