Connecting for Life provides a detailed and clear plan to achieve each of its 69 actions, with a lead agency and key partners in place for each individual action.
As Connecting for Life is a cross-cutting, whole-of-society strategy, its implementation requires consistent co-operation and communication between relevant stakeholders.
The strategy is supported by robust implementation and governance structures (set out in the diagram below) and resourcing and communications frameworks. Monitoring and evaluation are also embedded into the implementation process.
Local Action Plans
Seventeen local action plans, which reflect the national strategy, are also being developed around the country. Click here for more information on each area.
The implementation of government policy is a complex process. The success of Connecting for Life, depends heavily on a systematic and structured approach to implementation, ensuring co-ordination in the delivery of key actions across government departments and agencies.
The Connecting for Life Implementation Plan sets out the planned milestones for each of the 69 actions from 2017-2020. It describes the strategic and operational agenda that will be needed to further drive the implementation of CfL. The plan also outlines the risks, strategic drivers, communications plan and monitoring and evaluation processes for the strategy.
