Covax (COVID-19, Flu & Pneumococcal Vaccination Management System)

Welcome to the Covax Training Webpage. 

Here you will find all the information you need to learn about Covax, and the training setup documents which will guide you through your onboarding journey.

Covax is the name of the Health Service Executive’s (HSE) national vaccination management web system that manages, monitors and supports the process of administering COVID-19, Flu & Pneumococcal vaccinations across Ireland.  

 The Covax web system enables users to:  

  1. Register clients for vaccination 
  2. Record administration details of vaccinations 
  3. Schedule vaccination appointments 
  4. Obtain and record the client’s consent and their medical eligibility to be vaccinated

Setting up your account and logging in for the first time

The below guide will take you through how to set up your Covax account (or reactivate it), set up your tablet device and set (or reset) security protection; a feature called multi factor authentication (MFA) on your account.

Completing your training on how to use Covax, and practice

It is mandatory for all new Covax users to complete their training and practice before using the live system.  

Reactivated returning users will also be required to complete training, follow Modules 1A.1 and 1A.2 to understand the required training for your role. 

 The below guide will take you through how to access the learning platform ‘myTrailhead’, learn about the platform, and how to request access to the training practice system called ‘Train01’.

Superuser Corner: Covax System Superusers Information

If you have been nominated or put yourself forward as a Covax system superuser:

It is recommended you complete the required training as an Operations Administrator Specialist in myTrailhead as per the training journey table to understand the user experience for Covax and to help your peers. Please note the ‘Getting started (MOD 1A&B)’ and ‘Flu’ modules (MOD10A&B) have been updated for season 2023/2024. 

 

Once you have completed these online training modules, we recommend you attend an online session ‘"Enabling you as a Covax superuser".  

These sessions will run weekly on repeat, commencing late August 2023 until Mid-October 2023.  They will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 2-3.30pm. Click here to sign up to attend one of the sessions.

 

The purpose of this interactive session will allow you to: 

  1. Understand common Covax troubleshooting items that your peers may need your guidance on
  2. Meet your fellow Covax superuser peers, build relationships
  3. Discuss how you might like to use your Covax superuser role, to support your peers throughout the season.
