Ophthalmology - Eyesight
The Community Ophthalmology service cares for medical conditions of the eye. Children are seen at clinics in St. Davnet’s Monaghan, Virginia Primary Care Unit and Cavan General Hospital. Squint and Amblyopia treatment includes care from both Orthoptist and Ophthalmologist. We provide follow-up treatment for some conditions in the community and some post-operative care.
Services are provided by Community Ophthalmic Physicians and Orthoptists employed by the Health Service Executive and appliances are dispensed by private opticians at a range of locations.
