Resumption of day services for adults with disabilities

Day services for adults with disabilities started back in August 2020. A framework for the resumption of adult day services was developed and the guidance to support this framework has been recently updated.

The new intake of 2020 school leavers are currently being introduced to Day Services.  This is happening on a phased basis and commenced in September.

To ensure the safety of people who use these services and our staff, service providers are following public health guidance. The number of people that are being supported in each service location is dependent on the size of the location as social distancing guidance applies.

Guidance measures for Disability Services in the context of current high levels of Covid 19 transmission rates in the community (PDF size 296.7 KB, 2 pages) has been developed effective from 5th January 2021.

Framework for starting back day service supports

A national group has prepared a framework to support service providers as they resume services. This group was representative of service users and families, service providers and the HSE.
