If you need to adapt your home to continue living at home independently, you may be eligible to apply for a local authority grant.
This grant could help with installing:
- a wet room
- stairs lift
- ramps
- downstairs bathroom

Age Action’s Care and Repair, Cork does small DIY jobs, free of charge, for older people to help them maintain their homes and their independence, e.g move furniture downstairs in preparation for a hospital discharge, fit grab rails. Disabled Parking Permit Information
Disabled Parking Permit-You can apply for a parking permit to allow you to park in disabled parking spaces in Ireland and the EU if you are a person with severe restricted mobility or are certified as blind. The permit is available if you are a driver or passenger of a vehicle. It is valid for 2 years from the issue date. The scheme is run in Ireland by the Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland (DDAI) and the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA).
