Public Health Nursing Tipperary South

There are Public Health Nurses working from every Health Centre in our area, who provide a range of services to people in their homes.

Public health Nurses are frequently your first point of contact with the HSE. They provide support and advice on care, feeding and development to a parent or parents following the birth of a baby.

Public health nurses also provide advice and a child health screening service to pre-school and school children and administer immunisations in schools with doctors. They provide aftercare to people who have been discharged from hospital.

They co-ordinate and provide nursing and support services to the elderly and persons with disabilities in the home. They are also involved in providing a range of health promotional activities.
