Documents

Bring your Medical Card or private health insurance details with you.  Prior to admittance, check that your insurance plan covers your stay and any procedures planned.

Medications

All patients for cardiology admissions - like angiograms - must adhere to the medication instructions as set out in their appointment letter strictly.

It is very important that you bring an accurate and up to date record of your medicines with you. Give this to the nurse on your admission. Please do not take your own medicines or any medicines brought in to you by visitors without first consulting with the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Please let the doctors and nurse know immediately if you are allergic to any medications and ask that this allergy be documented in your chart and on your prescription chart.

To help ensure you are given the correct medications during your stay, please ensure that the doctor or nurse giving them to you has identified you correctly by asking you your name and checks your arm band.
