The National Clinical Programme for Epilepsy is pleased to present the Practice Guide for the Management of Women with Epilepsy. This Guide applies to all female patients with Epilepsy, Neurologists, GPs, Obstetricians, Nursing Staff, Midwives, PHNs and all those involved in the care and support of women with Epilepsy. This Guide sets out the Clinical Care Pathway that best addresses the needs of women with Epilepsy in Ireland from pre-conception to menopause. The Guide also inform women with Epilepsy of what to expect in terms of engagement with health services to further encourage collaborative treatment planning and interventions thereby supporting women in becoming more active in their own health care management.
