Third National Medicines Forum
The Third National Medicines Forum took place in the RCPI on the 30th of April 2015. It was an interdisciplinary meeting of nurses, pharmacists and doctors with an emphasis on Medicines Management and patient well-being. Speakers shared their experiences with the management of medicines including the areas of cost-effectiveness analysis, nursing and pharmacist initiatives in primary and secondary care, the view from General Practice and the patients perspective.
Fourth National Medicines Forum
The National Medicines Management Programme, the Office of the Nursing and Midwifery Services Director and the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland hosted the Fourth National Medicines Forum in the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland on Monday 16th May 2016. This interdisciplinary meeting of doctors, nurses and midwives, pharmacists and health service users focused on the safe and rationale use of medicines. Presentations reflected the importance of all departments working together for the safe, effective and cost-effective use of medicines. These included antimicrobial use in the community, potentially inappropriate prescribing, medicines adherence, biosimilar medicines and eHealth strategy.
