The Community Finance function supports community services to secure the maximum appropriate investment in health and social care by demonstrating value and good control over the resources these services already have.

It gives strategic and operational financial support and advice to the Health Service, enabling it to provide high quality, integrated health and personal social services while operating within the limits of the resources available.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

Services provided by the team include:

Business Partner Support to Community Care Groups

Community Finance Business Partners provide support to the following Community Care Groups:

  • Primary Care (including Palliative Care and Social Inclusion)
  • Mental Health
  • Disability
  • Older Persons (including Nursing Homes Support Scheme)
  • Health and Wellbeing Community

Support to Community Operations

Managing the annual estimates, National Service Plan and annual budgeting cycle.

Providing insightful, independent analysis on the performance of Community Care Groups.

Fostering compliance with financial processes, procedures and controls. 

Financial Planning, Budgeting and Reporting of Community Care Groups

Supporting the National Director and Community Operations in discharging the financial planning, budgeting and reporting responsibilities of the Community Care Groups. This includes the allocation of resources to the relevant service delivery organisations or teams and financial performance management.
