Selected patients undergoing joint replacement surgery at Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore (MRHT) will experience faster, more comfortable recovery thanks to the hospital’s innovative Day Case Arthroplasty Programme. One of the first in Ireland, this patient-centred approach aims to revolutionise how knee and hip replacements are delivered in MRHT for suitable patients—minimising their hospital stay and maximising recovery in the comfort of home.
10th July 2025: Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise has officially launched Hospital Watch, a proactive crime prevention programme in the hospital setting. Similar to a residential Neighbourhood Watch scheme, it operates as a partnership between An Garda Síochána, the Health Service Executive, all patients, staff and visitors.
