Introduction
National Doctors Training and Planning (NDTP) Training Lead website, Dublin Midlands Hospital Group (DMHG)
NDTP
The NDTP, National Doctors Training and Planning’s main objective is to ensure that the Irish health service is provided with the appropriate number of specialists, who possess the required skills and competencies to deliver high quality and safe care, and whose training is matched to the model of healthcare delivery in Ireland, regardless of location.
A number of years ago the NDTP recognised the need to appoint advocates for all NCHDs within each hospital group known as Training Leads.
Training Leads
The training leads co-ordinate and act as a central point of contact for all generic training related issues, particularly from an educational governance perspective and relating to external stakeholders, supporting the delivery of training as appropriate to each Clinical Site.
The Training Lead is a relatively new role funded by NDTP to support the training and education needs of all NCHDs in their hospital group. In order to do this The Training Leads and their Administrators work closely with the Lead NCHDs to provide support, grow relationships and work together to resolve common issues across the DMHG.
