The protection and welfare of children and young people is paramount and is everyone's responsibility.
The HSE Children First National Office is committed to supporting management and staff to deliver safer and better services for children and young people.
Our goal is to promote child-centred practice through the effective implementation of Children First National Guidance and associated safeguarding legislation and policies.
Our role is to provide training, information, advice and guidance, to support positive cultural change and contribute to a shared understanding of child protection and welfare issues. This ensures that all of us, in our everyday roles and daily lives, are working towards better and safer outcomes for children and young people.
This website has been designed as a resource about 'Children First' for all HSE staff, staff in HSE funded agencies, HSE contractors and members of the public.
