The HSE Patient Flow Academy aims to improve patient flow by supporting staff to identify, define and improve processes, pathways and systems for the safe and timely delivery of care. This is driven by a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and sharing of what works well for sites.
This is being achieved through the development and delivery of supports and resources targeting:
- Leadership development
- Staff engagement and training
- Integrated working and knowledge transfer
- Innovation and transformation supports
- Monitoring and evaluation
The HSE Patient Flow Academy Working Group
The HSE Patient Flow Academy Working Group is chaired by the National Clinical Advisor for Acute Hospitals, Dr. Mike O’ Connor. The Working Group includes representatives from Access & Integration, regional acute and community services and the National Ambulance Service. This Working Group will provide strategic and expert advice and oversee and support the implementation of an initial six-month programme of work.
