About Cancer Screening - Health Professionals

Cancer screening is provided by the National Screening Service (NSS). The NSS is responsible for Government funded population based cancer screening programmes:

  • BreastCheck - free breast x-ray for women aged 50-69 years every two years
  • CervicalCheck - free smear tests for women aged 25-60 years
  • BowelScreen - free bowel screening for men and women aged 60-69 every two years
